Oklo | Remote (US) or Santa Clara or Brooklyn | Full time | https://oklo.com
Join us in pioneering the next generation of nuclear reactors! You'll leverage your software skills alongside nuclear engineers to model, simulate, design, and deploy advanced fission power technology. You will work at the forefront of the nuclear industry, developing novel techniques to reach new levels of safety, efficiency, and resiliency. Come be a part of powering the future with advanced fission power plants to provide clean, reliable, affordable energy.
There is something up with your hiring system. I shared this post with a friend who applied, and they got an instant rejection. This is a data engineer with 4+ years experience in your stack and a degree in nuclear engineering to boot. Maybe not an ultimate hire but clearly not someone you should be auto-rejecting.
Thank you for flagging this, that definitely shouldn't be happening. Possibly we have an over-zealous spam filter. If you and your friend are open to it, please email me at pca@[company].com and I will personally look into it.
This is a classic example of why generic ATS filters and keyword-based AI fail both candidates and EMs. When the screening process is a black box, you lose high-signal candidates before a human even sees their CV.
I'm building Taknut (https://taknut.com) specifically to solve this for Engineering Managers. Instead of auto-rejecting, it uses a framework to generate interview guides rooted in the candidate's actual projects. It identifies specific technical proof points (like that nuclear engineering degree + specific stack experience) to help the EM ask deep questions rather than relying on a "Pass/Fail" bot.
If you're tired of "over-zealous filters" killing your pipeline, it might be worth a look to bring the human evaluation back into focus without losing time.
Against Malaria Foundation | Senior Software Engineer | Remote (UK) | Full Time
The AMF works to fight malaria in an extremely cost effective way with insecticide treated bed-nets. Every year hundreds of millions of people will be infected with malaria, and half a million of them will die, with many more being debilitated or disabled. Independent charity evaluators, such as GiveWell, have ranked the AMF as one of the most cost-effective charities in the world for over a decade, due to our long and well-studied track record preventing hundreds of millions of cases of malaria.
Our tech team is just a couple people, and all-remote. Our software is essential to the charity work we do; it is one of the ways we stand out among other charities, by allowing us to automate, analyze, and validate our work in novel ways. Our tech stack includes C# .NET, Blazor, and Python.
If you are a senior SWE in the UK who is interested in making a difference, please reach out to me by email at my first name at againstmalaria.com
"please reach out to me by email at my first name at againstmalaria.com"
which name exactly? it is not clear from the website also.
Below is the summary of the proposal which i have sent to the email address:
SoftwareEngineer2025@againstmalaria.com
SoftwareEngineer2026@againstmalaria.com
Not UK-based (India, remote) but wanted to reach out regardless given the nature of the work.
Sent a detailed email which covers what I understand about your system, a modernization
proposal that doesn't disrupt operations, some donor engagement
feature ideas and compensation expectations.

I applied to the Head of Engineering and Infrastructure role two months ago, and got a fairly generic rejection almost immediately that suggested I had been automatically screened out.
I've cleaned up my LinkedIn a bit since then, so perhaps that would help?
Given that you're still looking, and technically it's almost identical to my last role, seems like it's worth having a conversation about.

Stackable | Product Engineer - Web & UI | Remote (Germany/UK) | ~20 people | Full or part-time
IMPORTANT: ONLY APPLY IF YOU ARE PHYSICALLY BASED IN GERMANY OR UK!
(I received almost 100 applications, about 85 of them did not read the details)
We build an open source data platform on Kubernetes.
The product (Stackable Data Platform - SDP) bundles 12+ open source data tools (Trino, Apache Kafka, Apache Airflow, Apache Superset, etc.) and makes them work together.
Right now everything is Infrastructure-as-Code only. We need someone to build a UI layer on top.
No mockups, no Figma, no product roadmap waiting for you I'm afraid, just a bunch of ideas :)
We're all backend people and need someone to own this end to end. Play around with our product stack, figure out what customers actually need, build it.
Stack (because we got started without you...): Svelte/SvelteKit, TypeScript, TailwindCSS. SDP itself is Rust, Java, Python on K8s.
Three releases a year. Not SaaS. Quality matters.
100% remote, Germany (UK possible) only, no other countries, sorry. No Scrum, minimal meetings. Interview process is usually just two conversations.
The position isn't on our homepage yet as I'm on vacation.
Send a mail to recruiting@stackable.tech and I'll get back to you next week. Please mention HN in your mail. My personal mail is also in my HN profile. I'm the Co-founder and CTO.

Zed Industries | North America, South America, Europe REMOTE | https://zed.dev/ Zed is a company for developers, by developers. All 3 of our founders have spent years in the trenches writing software and still do it almost every single day.
We've raised $42M to support our ultimate vision, a new way to collaborate on software, where conversations about code remain connected to the code itself, instead of being tied to aging snapshots or scattered across different tools. The first step was creating a high-quality editor to serve as the user interface. Now this new investment lets us expand to tackle the next phase of our plan. We're developing a new kind of operation-based version control that incrementally tracks the evolution of your code with edit-level granularity, and we're integrating it into Zed to make collaboration, both with agents and teammates, a first-class part of the coding experience.

Red Balloon Security | Security Researchers, Software Engineers | NYC, Northern Virginia | ONSITE, HYBRID | Full-time, Interns (paid) | US Citizenship Required | https://redballoonsecurity.com
We are a team of expert researchers and engineers focused on securing embedded devices. We work with partners across critical industries, and on government-funded research programs (think DARPA). "Full-stack" for us doesn't just stop at back end code; it means being comfortable with operating systems, firmware, and signals going over the wire. You'll succeed here if you are a quick learner who loves working independently on tough, technical problems nobody has ever solved before.
Day-to-day tasks might include:
* Tearing apart a device in our lab, reverse engineering its firmware, and finding security vulnerabilities
* Developing an automated, robotic platform for hardware reverse engineering (custom hardware, vision models, user interfaces, etc.)
* Hooking and patching RTOS kernel functions to execute defensive device integrity validation code, without violating real-time requirements
* Building scalable servers for processing millions of device telemetry messages across thousands of concurrent connections
* Maintaining open-source reverse engineering tools (like OFRAK https://ofrak.com) and cooking up fun demos for hacker conferences (like this web game we built for DEF CON in 2023 https://ofrak.com/tetris/)
Our main office is in Manhattan, but we are building out a new office in Northern Virginia. US citizenship required. Bonus points if you have an active security clearance, or are willing to get one.
What’s up with all the flagged/dead posts at the bottom? I don’t see any pattern. This is relevant because I’d like to post a few jobs, but want to make sure I’m not breaking the rules somehow and get flagged/dead?
Tables power every clinical trial, financial model, and scientific experiment, but deep learning has mostly ignored them. No natural sequence, no spatial structure, no shared vocabulary across datasets. LLM architectures don't transfer. We built TabPFN, the first foundation model that actually understands tabular data (published in Nature, 3M+ downloads, new SOTA for tabular ML). The hardest problems are still open.
The model is half the product. The other half - training infrastructure, real-time serving, developer platform, reliability - is what turns a research breakthrough into something enterprises trust in production. We're hiring across both.
- ML Engineer, Training Infrastructure — Own GPU infrastructure, distributed training performance, and the developer productivity layer (CI, experiment tracking, model registry) that keeps research moving fast.
- Full Stack Engineer, ML Platform — Build the product that puts tabular foundation models in users' hands, from data upload through inference and results. You'll work across frontend, backend, and directly with the research team to turn new model capabilities into production features.
- Research Engineer, Foundation Model — Design experiments, run ablations, build training infrastructure, contribute to papers. Research engineers here aren't supporting scientists — they are the science team.
- ML Engineer, Cloud Platform — Design and scale the core infrastructure for serving and finetuning foundation models in production. Early enough that you're making the architecture decisions, not inheriting them.
Also hiring: Research Scientist, Applied Scientist, Forward Deployed ML Engineer, Developer Relations Engineer, AE, BDR.
20-person team selected from thousands applicants. Backgrounds from Jane Street, Google, CERN, G-Research. Led by Frank Hutter, advised by Yann LeCun and Bernhard Schölkopf. With backing from leaders at Hugging Face, DeepMind, and Black Forest Labs, XTX Ventures & Balderton.

MONUMENTAL | https://www.monumental.co/ | Amsterdam, The Netherlands | Full Time | Onsite
We make robots that autonomously construct buildings. We are currently developing and manufacturing our autonomous bricklaying system in the beautiful centre of Amsterdam. And our robots are already earning real revenue operating on construction sites all over the Netherlands.
We're looking for experienced software engineers for many roles. You can help us solve problems like:
- Data sync and analytics queries across a fleet of robots (that can be offline for hours at a time)
- Modelling buildings in code and finding the right UI for operators to edit them
- Designing systems for robots to drive safely and fully autonomously around a building site
We're rapidly scaling up operations and we need experienced engineers who can build the systems that manage all of that complexity. If you think that 'full-stack' could reasonably mean debugging firmware, mixing buckets of mortar _and_ writing React components, we are looking for you. Robotics experience not required!
Identity Labs has generated 2B+ views across Twitter. We've worked with Bryan Johnson, Chamath Palihapitiya, Tony Fadell, partners at a16z, partners at Kleiner Perkins, and YC founders. We are a small team of 15 people.
If the 21st century gets defined by 100 influential ideas, Identity Labs wants to be instrumental in popularizing 10 of them.
We believe every founder who's built something massive has five Paul Graham level essays inside them. Our job is to find those essays and give them distribution.
We're hiring a Creative Director.
Your job is to sit with someone who built a billion dollar company, talk for two hours, figure out which idea from that conversation will make 10 million people stop scrolling on Twitter, then write it.
It's intellectual sparring plus longform journalism plus an obsessive understanding of what spreads on Twitter and why.
We're growing at 1500%+ YoY. A Creative Director can 5x their salary within 2 years as they grow into a Partner role.
Join builds collaboration software for the construction industry — helping contractors, owners, and architects coordinate on high-value projects. React, Golang, Postgres. We deploy to AWS via Terraform.
We're hiring multiple senior/staff engineers across a range of profiles: frontend-heavy, fullstack, and backend-heavy. We're especially looking for 1–2 engineers with architect-level frontend chops (React, TypeScript, state management, perf) who can own UI quality and level up the team. But we're also very interested in strong Go/Postgres or infra/ops backgrounds.
Day to day you'll write code (25–75%), review PRs (25–50%), and pair/mentor/document (10–20%). You'll act as a technical lead on projects, break down large efforts, and influence architectural decisions across the org. Small cross-functional teams with a designer, PM, and EM.
Stack: React, TypeScript, Golang, Postgres, GraphQL/Apollo, Vite, Cypress, Terraform, AWS (ECS, RDS, Lambda). We lightly use Elastic and are interested in event-driven patterns.
To apply: send resume to jon@join.build. If you are able to please include a PR review you've given that had a positive impact (or a description/snippet if that's confidential).
We're building a system that represents domain knowledge as modular probabilistic models — making analysis rigorous and transparent. Users can connect these models flexibly into larger structures. The system enforces consistency across them, and propagates uncertainty through each step. Our first applications are in finance and scientific research, with use cases ranging from equity valuation and distress monitoring, to particle physics.
This is an opportunity for builders and practitioners to help shape a deep-tech product from its earliest stage.
We're also looking for Domain Experts to collaborate on high-value use cases -- identifying and validating opportunities, shaping them into working solutions with our engineers, and taking them from pilot to production with real users. Practitioners with expertise in Valuation Models, Quantitative Default-Probability Models, or Interest Rate Prediction Models are particularly relevant right now.

Apex Dental Partners | Full-Stack Developer | Dallas, TX (Remote US or Hybrid) | https://www.apexdp.com
We're a Dental Support Organization running 59 practices across TX/OK/CO/MO/IA/NE/TN/AZ. The unsexy industry description hides what's actually an interesting technical role: a small dev team with real ownership, pushing hard on automation and AI to make dental operations actually work well.
Stack is primarily Rails 7.1 (Hotwire+Stimulus.js), with some React/Electron, C# .NET (OpenDental), and tiny bit of Go — all on AWS.
You'd be joining a tight team where developers own problems end-to-end: from understanding why a billing workflow breaks down, to designing the fix, to shipping it. The domain is surprisingly broad — patient communication, PMS integration, payroll, clinical workflows — and there's no shortage of genuinely novel problems once you learn the business.
Good fit if you like: stable company, small team, broad latitude, and work that visibly matters to the people using it. Not a fit if you need a large eng org — but there's plenty of greenfield work as we're still actively building new features, not just maintaining legacy code.
Starbridge | Senior Engineers (Kotlin/Java/React/Typescript) | NYC or Remote | Full-time | starbridge.ai Starbridge is building an AI platform that turns large-scale public and enterprise data into reliable sales insights. We are early, moving fast, and building from zero to one, so this role will have huge ownership and product impact.
Backend Engineer: (looking for Kotlin/Java/Scala experience). You'll work across the backend: building enterprise integrations, large-scale scraping and parsing pipelines, and systems that let users apply LLMs to millions of documents to generate insights at scale.
AI Engineer: Applied AI plus strong software engineering. You will build, evaluate, and deploy LLM-driven features like deep document analysis and interactive chat, working with models from OpenAI, Anthropic, and Gemini. Expect hands-on Python, ML system design, experimentation, and production reliability. Bonus for RAG depth and frameworks like LangChain, LlamaIndex, or Hugging Face.
We're looking to build our in-person team in NYC but also open to remote!

Immunera | Principal Machine Learning Engineer | NYC area (hybrid) | Full-time | immunera.ai
Hey! I’m Maxim, cofounder/CEO of Immunera.
We're building blood tests that use gene sequencing and machine learning to help patients with autoimmune disease. Immunera spun out of years of research at Stanford, and our technology has been published in Science and covered by The New York Times.
We're hiring a Principal Machine Learning Engineer to shape the core models and infrastructure that power our blood tests. We are partnering with hospitals to generate training data from real patients for our language models and other biological sequence models.
This is a senior engineering role with significant autonomy at an early-stage, venture-backed startup. We're looking for strong experience building and operating ML systems in production (Python, PyTorch/TensorFlow, cloud platforms). Prior biology or healthcare experience is NOT required; we care much more about your ability to reason about data, models, and systems.
With recent technologies such as WebGPU and WebAssembly, the browser is quickly becoming a powerful gaming platform. High-quality 3D graphics and near-native level performance are now possible without the need for downloads, apps, or platform-specific development. Our browser games platform is already reaching 50 million people per month. We are self-funded, profitable, remote-first, and fast-growing.
We are currently looking for multiple people to bring our engineering, product, data, and adops to the next level.
Please note that we're looking for people who can work on a European timezone and are ideally based in Europe (which includes the UK for those in doubt).
Pango | Senior Software Engineer - Full Stack, Technical Lead / Software Engineer | On-site (hybrid) in Stockholm, Sweden (Visa Sponsorship possible) | Full time
Pango is building the world's first Agentic Operating System for e-commerce logistics. Our vision is to create the AI e-commerce employee of the future. We are forming our core team in Stockholm and are looking for exceptional engineers. We have achieved a product-market fit and are growing rapidly.
You are a good fit if:
* You are comfortable maintaining, expanding and operating a substantial chunk of a B2B SaaS platform with a high sense of ownership.
* You are happy to take on work that in a large company is divided into multiple roles, and execute it all at an excellent level.
* You are unafraid of any technology. If we need a desktop app and you haven't done one before, you will study the documentation of Electron.js and build one. If a model for predicting delivery times is needed, you will do a literature review to find the right architecture and train one.
* You have strong proficiency in any backend language or platform, with a strong willingness to dive deep into PHP/Laravel OR strong proficiency in JS/React.
* E-commerce (Shopify, Magento, other platforms, shipping carrier integrations) experience is a plus.
* Extra points if you write the initial email - however short - using your own words.
You will take a key role in shaping the product and company, with ability to make an impact and advance career limited only by your aptitude and interest.
Reach out to lukasz@pango.ai if you are interested or have any questions. We review applications immediately and move quickly.

No mockups, no Figma, no product roadmap waiting for you I'm afraid, just a bunch of ideas :) We're all backend people and need someone to own this end to end.

If you're interested in shaping sensitive data infrastructure or if you have any questions feel free to reach out: cloud@hunt.ntnu.no.We've raised $42M to support our ultimate vision, a new way to collaborate on software, where conversations about code remain connected to the code itself, instead of being tied to aging snapshots or scattered across different tools.

We’re Quadrature, a technology company in the algo trading space. We use advanced machine learning on large amounts of data to predict trends in financial markets. More at https://quadrature.ai.
What makes us different:
- ~250 people, no traders — our systems trade autonomously.
- Single PnL.
- We don’t separate “quant researchers” from “developers” — everyone codes to a high level and has the opportunity to do research.
- Mission-driven: our climate foundation (https://www.qc.foundation/) has made significant divestment commitments over recent years. For many of us, it's why we're here.
We’re hiring Quant Developers — a generalist team of engineers and researchers who own both the research pipeline and software infrastructure across the entire business. Stack is Rust, Python and C++. We want sharp, collaborative people with no big egos.

Stack: React, TypeScript, Golang, Postgres, GraphQL/Apollo, Vite, Cypress, Terraform, AWS (ECS, RDS, Lambda). We lightly use Elastic and are interested in event-driven patterns.
Fully remote, 100% employer-paid medical, 401(k), two company-wide shutdown weeks, continuing education budget.
Current openings:
* Product Software Engineering (Quantitative Modeling)
* Program Synthesis Engineering
* Applied Category Theory Research
* Bayesian Software Engineering
